Holycombe

Hi gang
Going to try and do a big update on what's been happening the last
few months with Ian and I. About a month ago had a brilliant weekend
in Hampshire visiting a Steam Powered Fair at a place called Holycombe.
We were there to visit the train that Ian (with a charity group he has
organised called WOLS War Operative Locomotive Society) imported
from Australia. It is aptly named Shrek at the moment though they
are thinking of renaming it ANZAC as it was built in 1916 and 'fought'
in WWI moving troops, casualties, rations and other supplies. They
are currently looking for funding to restore it and then it will be
housed in a railway museum in Shildon, Yorkshire.

The other highlight of the weekend was meeting Rob, Jo and their
beautiful son Harry. Rob is another shareholder in Shrek. We stayed
with them and their huge Bermese Mountain Dog (like a St Bernard!)
Rufus. Whilst the boys were up and down the track driving trains, Jo,
Harry & I proceeded to go on all the traditional fairground rides powered
by steam (bit different to Dreamworld Sue but more my cup of tea!). Went
on the carousel, ferris wheel, miniature train, big train and traction engine.
Great weekend and Jo was brilliant company too felt like I had known her
all my life!
