The owls - for Isla!!

But our personal favourite is this one...the East African Wood Owl...he talked to us for ages and was very inquisitive and cute

The barn owl

One of the biggest owls ....the Eagle owl

Ian and I have developed this new love of owls after our stay to Muncaster. They have a huge range of them in their 'World Owl Centre'. There are many reasons why we love them but here are some of them...

* they are cute

* they can turn their heads almost 360 degrees

* they are very grand and regal

* they are softer than you think (after having stroked one)

* they come in all shapes and sizes

* they have huge eyes

* they make different noises to 'HOO HOO' and 'Twit twoo'

Muncaster Castle

Me in some of the lovely grounds....
The castle itself...but we didn't stay but in a B&B in the grounds.

After Kieran's anniversary we decided to cheer ourselves up and went to stay a night in the grounds of Muncaster Castle at Ravenglass on the West Coast of Cumbria. This magnificant castle is also supposedly haunted. Must admit I did get a bit of a chill. There are also beautiful gardens and grounds and my new love - OWLS !!! who were our neighbours for the night fabulous. If you want to see more go to their website...www.muncaster.co.uk
